Frequently Asked Questions

Quick answers about how we check .ar availability, why we cache RDAP, and what to expect from bulk searches and saved lists.

General

How buscadominios operates day to day.

How do you make money?

The product is free to use. We may earn referral fees if you register a gTLD through outbound links (e.g., Porkbun); .ar/.com.ar registrations go directly through NIC Argentina.

What happens to my search results?

We cache availability responses in Upstash Redis to speed up repeats and avoid hammering NIC Argentina. We do not sell or share search data for advertising. See the Privacy Policy for details.

How does the checker work?

We normalize names to .ar or .com.ar and query RDAP at NIC Argentina. Results are cached (~24h taken, ~6h available, ~1h errors) and served from the closest region.

Why might a domain show as available but actually be taken?

Availability can change between cache refreshes; domains in redemption or without nameservers may briefly appear open. Always confirm directly with the registrar before purchasing.

Domain search and bulk

Running single and bulk checks responsibly.

How do I search for a domain?

Type in the instant search to see live availability and suggestions. For multiple domains, use bulk mode (up to 50) and we process them in paced batches to respect NIC rate limits.

How accurate is availability?

RDAP is authoritative, but timing matters. Cached "available" results may refresh after a few hours; rerun a single check for a fresh read before registering.

What if a domain looks taken here but free elsewhere?

We mark names taken when RDAP reports them as registered or lacking required nameservers. If you believe it is free, retry after a few minutes or confirm directly with NIC Argentina.

Extensions and domains

Choosing between .ar, .com.ar, and other TLDs.

Which extension should I choose?

.ar is short and local; .com.ar is common for businesses in Argentina. For global reach, compare .com or other gTLDs via our pricing links, then finish purchase with the registrar.

What is a domain name?

A domain is the address where a site lives. RDAP tells us if it’s registered and shows basic metadata like registrar, nameservers, and expiration.

Accounts and saved lists

Optional accounts for organizing searches.

Do I need an account?

No. You can search without signing in. If you do sign in, you can save lists, export CSV, and delete items anytime.

How do I manage my data?

Delete saved lists in the app or email us to request access, correction, export, or deletion of your account data. We verify identity before fulfilling requests.
